North Richland Hills police arrest woman in slaying of roommate
A 37-year-old woman was arrested Friday in the fatal stabbing this week of a woman with whom she shared an apartment.
Julie Marie Peterson of North Richland Hills was in the Tarrant County Jail Friday on suspicion of capital murder in the slaying of Kathleen Downey Olson, 59, a news release said.
Bail was set at $1 million. A booking mug was not available late Friday, according to the online jail log.
Olson was found dead early Wednesday in the bathtub of her apartment in the 6200 block of Glenview Drive by officers who had been asked to check on her.
Investigators think Peterson stabbed Olson, placed her body in the bathtub and covered it. Peterson may have stolen Olson’s vehicle and other possessions, the news release said.
