Star-Telegram archives

A man found dead in a yard Friday morning may have been hit by a vehicle that drove away, police said.

A caller to 911 at 7:46 a.m. reported an unconscious man in a yard in the 100 block of Bedford Court East.

Eric Augsburger, 51, of Fort Worth, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported.

“Evidence at the scene is consistent with a hit-and-run accident,” Lt. J. Pell, a Hurst police spokesman, said.

He said Augsburger likely was hit early Friday morning.

“We haven’t had any witnesses come forward to actually say they saw it yet,” Pell said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hurst police at 817-788-7180.
