Report of abduction attempt false, Colleyville police say

COLLEYVILLE — Police called off a search for an SUV driver Thursday night after deciding that a report of an attempted child abduction was false.

Police and school officials had said that an O.C. Taylor Elementary School student reported being stopped by a man in a dark hoodie who asked the student to get into his dented SUV.

The approach was said to have occurred in the 5400 block of Pool Road at 3:05 p.m. near the school, where the student ran to report the incident.

Five hours later, police issued a statement that “After further investigation, it was revealed the incident did not occur.”
