Trophy Club man faces federal child porn charges
The adult son of a Southlake pastor faces two federal charges of child pornography, according to federal documents.
Jayce Craft, 28, was arrested early Tuesday morning on Alamosa Drive after agents with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and police raided his residence.
Federal criminal complaints were filed Wednesday against Craft, who lived at the home with his parents and adult brother.
Craft faces federal charges of transportation of child pornography and possession of child pornography, crimes that authorities believe occurred from Jan. 30 until Tuesday.
No other details were available, as the criminal complaints were sealed.
Asked for further details, Carl Rusnok, spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said in an email: “Nothing at this point. Ongoing investigation.”
Craft is the son of the homeowner, George Craft, who is listed as director and pastor of the Abundant Grace Church in Southlake. The church is associated with the Abundant Grace Christian Montessori Academy at 1970 E. Dove Road.
George Craft told WFAA-TV by phone that his family was awakened Tuesday morning by loud bangs, bright lights and drawn guns.
Federal agents executed an arrest warrant Tuesday at the Trophy Club residence as part of a child exploitation investigation, Rusnok said in a news release.
Homeland Security Investigations has an ongoing project called Operation Predator aimed at identifying and arresting people involved with child pornography who travel overseas for sex with minors and sex trafficking of children.
Jayce Craft has a criminal history in North Texas. He’s been arrested at least four times since 2008 for evading arrest, possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated and making a false report to a police officer, according to Denton County criminal court records.
He was arrested by Roanoke, Trophy Club and Denton County sheriff’s deputies.
Before Tuesday, Craft was last arrested on July 25, 2014, for a probation violation and was released on Aug. 6, 2015, according to Denton County Jail records.
