Man armed with propane, lighter robs Mesquite pizzeria
A man armed with a propane container and a lighter robbed a Pizza Hut of an undisclosed amount of money Monday, police said.
The man walked in and threatened to blow up the propane tank if he didn’t get cash, police said.
A suspect, whom police identified as Dawson Miles, 28, of Frisco, was arrested by Balch Springs police during a traffic stop shortly after the holdup.
Amber Vickery, 24, of Frisco was also arrested as a suspected accomplice.
The holdup was reported about 6 p.m. Monday at the Pizza Hut at 909 N. Gross Road in Mesquite. Police received information that a man walked in with a blue propane container and stole money.
After taking the cash, Miles got into the car, where Vickery was waiting, police said. A witness provided a description of the vehicle, which was later stopped by Balch Springs police.
Miles faces a charge of aggravated robbery and possession of a controlled substance. Vickery also faces a charge of aggravated robbery.
Both were in the Mesquite Jail on Tuesday. Bail was set at $18,500 for Miles and $15,000 for Vickery.
