Bedford’s Market at Gateway development is quickly taking shape along the bustling corner of Airport Freeway and North Industrial Boulevard.

Construction is underway on a Sprouts Farmers Market, which is scheduled to open in November. Nothing Bundt Cakes is also slated for the commercial development.

According to a news release from the city, work is also underway at a free-standing Chipotle featuring a drive-thru which will be in the front of the development.

Crews from Oncor and AT&T are also on site installing utilities.

When complete, The Market at Gateway will feature a 23,443-square-foot Sprouts grocery store, two additional 10,500-square-foot retail and restaurant buildings and approximately 18,000 square feet of open plaza space.

“Interest in the development continues to be strong thanks to its high visibility, convenient access from SH 183, and growing mix of businesses,” according to the news release.

The development also features 106 townhomes called Gateway Village.

Molly Fox, a spokeswoman for the city, said in an email that construction on the townhomes by David Weekly will start soon, and crews are finishing work on sidewalks and streets.

Each townhome will face a street or green space, and trails will connect the homes to the commercial space.

The Star-Telegram previously reported that In December 2021, Bedford purchased the property from Cross City Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Euless) for $9.5 million so that the city could have a say in future development.

City manager Andrea Roy said at the time that “the property reshapes the entrance to our community. It will spur redevelopment in the area.”
