Kids and adults can step back in time with an event in Bicentennial Park to get a feel for what life was like for Texas pioneers.

On Aug. 14., the Southlake Historical Society and the Southlake Public Library are hosting "Texas Pioneering at the Southlake Log House."

The event will give residents a look at the Southlake Log House and meet Builder Bill Marquis, who will share the story of the log house and how he built it from Southlake historical log buildings, according to a news release.

There will be old-fashioned activities, such as churning butter and making yarn dolls, along with more happenings at the free event.

The Log House is in Bicentennial Park, 450 West Southlake Blvd., and the event is from 10-11:30 a.m.
