Grapevine pet adoption fee waived Aug. 15

The Grapevine Animal Shelter and Adoption Center believes every shelter animal will find its dream home during this year’s Clear the Shelters event on Aug. 15.

The adoption fee will be waived for that day only.

The event is slated for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the center at 500 Shady Brook Drive.

The idea hatched in 2014 when shelter representatives across North Texas gathered to discuss participating in a unified campaign. Last year’s effort turned into the largest adoption event in North Texas history.

“With summer being the busiest time of year for our shelter, we are excited to open our doors to the community and make those perfect matches that each of our animals so much deserves,” said Kristena Valentine, animal services supervisor for the shelter and adoption center. “Now is the time to adopt and get a fuzzy friend for life.”
