Art Council Northeast Shining Star is The Arts League

Now here is a first!

For the past many years, the Arts Council Northeast has nominated a special someone to be recognized at the annual Shining Stars Luncheon put on by The Arts League.

This year, for the first time, instead of an individual, the Arts Council Northeast has instead decided to recognize The Arts League as a whole.

Yep, you read it here. This year’s Art Council Northeast Shining Star is the entire group of individuals that make up The Arts League.

Chair of the Arts Council Northeast, Fonda Martin, said that this year’s choice of honoree was “The Arts League for their volunteering and fundraising for the Arts Council Northeast and for establishing the first Shining Stars Luncheon 18 years ago. Their efforts have put this high-profile event on the calendars and the society pages of the place to be each year.”

Talk about a huge “thank you.” With this unprecedented action, the Arts Council Northeast is obviously sending out a hug so that everyone now is aware of all the years of amazing service that The Arts League has performed.

This year’s Shining Stars Luncheon is slated for 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Hurst Conference Center, located at 1601 Campus Drive in Hurst. Tickets are $65 each and can be reserved by heading to the Shining Stars website, www.shiningstarsartscouncil.org, and clicking on the “Buy Tickets” button located on the left hand side of the page.
