Readers of all ages celebrated an end to summer at the outdoor Summer Reading Grand Finale at the Colleyville Public Library on Friday.

The evening featured a deejay, children’s crafts, face painting, a balloon artist, carnival games and prizes, pony rides, inflatable rides and Texas Star Express train rides.

Every year, the Colleyville Library hosts its summer reading program, and every year the community sets new attendance records for the popular program.

This year’s Read to the Rhythm motif combined musical themes with reading and special activities to keep everyone reading all summer long.

The musical lineup included Mad Science — Sounds Like Science, Rock ’n’ Roll Riot and a musical petting zoo.

Reading points were earned and prizes were collected in the Rock Star Room.
