Southlake seeks volunteers for boards, commissions

The city of Southlake has opened its application process for its boards and commissions.

“It takes a team to run a city, and City Council wants you to be a part of their team,” a city news bulletin says.

Southlake residents “who want to be engaged in their community and support the City Council in their mission” have until Sept. 8 to submit applications to serve on the Community Engagement Committee, the Library Board, the Metroport Teen Court Advisory Board, the Senior Advisory Commission, the Arts Council and the Crime Control and Prevention District Board of Directors.

Each appointment is for a two-year term, unless it’s filling a vacancy for an unexpired term. The mayor and City Council will make the appointments on Oct. 20.

Applications are available online at www.cityofsouthlake.com, and they can be emailed to lpayne@ci.southlake.tx.us, faxed to 817-748-8270, or mailed or hand-delivered to the City Secretary’s office at 1400 Main St., Suite 270.
