Martial artist wins bronze medal at national tournaments

Riley Zuckert, 15, recently finished third at the AAU National Taekwondo Championships held in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in the 15-17 year old age group.

Zuckert will be a 10th grader this year at Colleyville Heritage High School and competed in the Fin-weight division of the tournament.

According to a news release, “as a nationals medalist, she has been invited to return in September to fight off for a spot on the AAU National team that will represent the United States in international competition.”

Zuckert, who is a second degree Black Belt, has won seven nationals medals, including five previous U.S. National championships.

Zuckert trains six days per week at NTA Taekwondo of Coppell under Master Sang Cha.

Registration is now available for the Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association’s 2015-2016 season.

Youth boys and girls fall lacrosse starts on Sept. 8 and details about the season can be found on the organization’s web site.

UKUSA summer camps available

The Grapevine/Southlake Soccer Association is offering the UKUSA summer camp in August.

The camp runs 9-11:30 a.m. from Aug. 3-6 at Oak Grove Park in Grapevine.

It is for children ages 5-12, and the cost is $100.

Tryouts set for 2015-2016 Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage hockey teams

Tryout dates have been set for the Varsity and JV 2015-2016 season for the Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage hockey program.

They will be held 5:45-6:45 p.m. July 28 and 29 in Euless and 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Aug. 2 at the NYTEX Arena in North Richland Hills.

Second DYF Golf Tournament and Live Auction scheduled for August

The Second Annual Dragon Youth Football golf tournament and live auction is set to take place on Aug. 31 at Timarron Country Club in Southlake.

The tournament will conclude with “lunch and a live auction you won’t want to miss.”

According to the organization’s web site, dragonyouthfootbll.net, “we are also graciously accepting donated items for the tournament silent auction, as well as various levels of tournament sponsorship! All funds raised from your generous donations and contributions will be applied toward much need renovations to Old Dragon Stadium, as well as new, innovative training equipment.”

Registration is limited to 100 golfers or 25 foursomes.
