Bedford Blues will feature Delbert McClinton, Buddy Guy
The 2015 Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival will be a hot ticket in September, and not because of the weather.
Fort Worth’s Delbert McClinton and six-time Grammy winner Buddy Guy will headline the festival, which is Sept. 4-6 across from the Bedford City Hall Complex, 1951 L. Don Dodson Dr.
McClinton, who began touring on July 4, will bring his blues rock to Saturday’s (Sept. 5) show.
Sunday will feature Guy, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee who will be making his fourth appearance in Bedford.
Daily general admission lawn seating is $7 online and $10 (cash only) at the gate. Information: www.bedfordbluesfest.com.
Arts Council Shining Stars luncheon is Sept. 25 in Hurst
The Arts Council Northeast 2015 Shining Stars Luncheon, which honors volunteers and raises money for the non-profit, is scheduled 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Hurst Conference Center, 1601 Campus Dr., Hurst.
Channel 5-KXAS anchor Deborah Ferguson will serve as the master of ceremonies.
The luncheon, in its 19th year, honors volunteers — called Shining Stars — for their contributions to community art programs that benefit at-risk youth, underprivileged children, senior citizens and emerging arts groups.
Besides an awards ceremony, the event will feature a raffle, silent auction, art auction and luncheon.
