The Trinity River Authority is upgrading a 50-year-old water system to replace pump stations and storage tanks.

The Trinity River Authority provides water to five Northeast Tarrant County cities. The Bedford Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on the plans at 5:30 Thursday at City Hall, 2000 Forest Ridge Drive.

Vanassa Joseph, a spokesperson for the Trinity River Authority, said the improvements include replacing all pump stations and upgrading two storage tanks. The improvements will also include upgrading electrical systems with backup generators.

The TRA provides water to Bedford, Euless, Colleyville, North Richland Hills and Grapevine.

The treatment plant is on Trinity Boulevard, on the border of Euless and Fort Worth.

Joseph said the TRA is “committed” to addressing neighbors’ concerns about noise and will install a fence. It is working with Bedford on “any tree removal.”.

“We definitely will do all we can to be good neighbors,” she said.
