Residents who get their water from private wells within a half mile of Onyx Drive South and Big Fossil Creek in North Richland Hills are urged to boil or distill their water before cooking, drinking or bathing after a tree fell onto Haltom City sewer pipe Monday evening, discharging 266,000 gallons of sanitary sewage into the stream.

Those with private wells should have their water tested and disinfected before they stop boiling or distilling water, a release from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality states.
