Resident found dead of apparent suicide in apartment after police standoff in Keller

A person is dead after the Tarrant County Constable’s Office Precinct 3 went to deliver an eviction notice and constables heard a gunshot, leading to nearly two hours of what police initially described as a standoff with a barricaded person Tuesday morning.

When a SWAT team entered the apartment around 10:50 a.m., they found the person dead, according to a news release from Keller police. Police have not released any details about who the person was, other than that he or she was the resident.

The gunshot and police response led to an evacuation of the apartment complex with police telling residents about an hour later they could return to their homes because the “incident has concluded.”

Law enforcement officers arrived at an apartment complex, Olympus Town Center, in the 1300 block of Keller Parkway just after 9 a.m. and entered the apartment around 10:50 a.m. to find the person inside dead, according to the release.

No further details were immediately available. Keller police referred questions about how the incident began to the Tarrant County Constables Office before adding that its criminal investigation division would take over the scene.
