A benefit supporting the family of Haltom City police officer Kristopher Hutchison, who died on Oct. 27, will be held from 7-11 p.m. Nov. 11 at BoomerJack’s Grill & Bar located at 6701 Fossil Bluff Drive in Fort Worth.

The benefit is sponsored by the Brotherhood for the Fallen, a nonprofit organization supporting the families and communities of fallen officers across the United States, according to the organization’s website. Brotherhood for the Fallen has seven chapters listed on its website, including a Fort Worth chapter.

All proceeds will go to Hutchison’s family, which includes his wife, son and daughter, the Haltom Police Department said in a social media post Thursday.

Hutchison, 31, was laid to rest by his friends and family Wednesday, a week after dying from a lengthy battle with COVID-19.

The Fort Worth native was known for his love of his community, serving as a school resource officer at two local middle schools while also a police officer with Haltom City Police Department.

Prior to his time in law enforcement, Hutchison served in the Marine Corps, earning various medals including the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, before being honorably discharged, the Star-Telegram previously reported.

During Wednesday’s funeral service, coworkers and family said his service never stopped at the end of his shift.
