Pedestrian finds body of man under bridge near Haltom City creek; police investigating
The body of a man was found near a creek Wednesday morning just off Northeast Loop 820 in Haltom City, authorities said.
The name of the man has not been released by authorities.
The body had not been at the location for very long, Haltom City police said Wednesday, but detectives have not determined how the man died. The man appeared to be in his early to mid-50s.
Haltom City police responded to a report about the body under a bridge at about 1 a.m. Wednesday near the 5600 block of Northeast Loop 820.
A pedestrian walking in the area found the body, then walked to a nearby apartment complex and asked a resident to call 911, Haltom City police said.
Authorities were investigating the incident and said they might need to stop traffic in the area, according to a Haltom City police post on Facebook early Wednesday morning.
Haltom City police said it took some time to remove the man’s body because of where he was located.
Detectives are investigating the case.
