The man killed after a motorist driving a stolen car collided with his vehicle has been identified as Colby Bozo, 25, of Bedford.

Bozo’s pregnant wife was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where she was in critical condition Friday.

The suspect, identified Friday morning by police as 29-year-old Jason Bernard Miller, was treated at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital H-E-B in Bedford for minor injuries.

Miller was being held Friday in the Bedford jail. He faces charges of murder, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

His total bail was set at $1,030,000.

Bozo, whose address is less mile a mile north of the crash site, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The wreck was reported shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday at Murphy Drive and L. Don Dodson Drive.

The incident began when a Bedford patrol officer saw a motorist driving 48 mph in a 30 mph zone, traveling east on L.Don Dodson Drive, just north of the North Tarrant Express.

“The officer made a U-turn and turned on the lights,” said Deputy Chief Les Hawkins on Thursday. “By the time the officer made the curve toward the intersection, the crash had occurred at the intersection.”

The couple’s car was northbound on Murphy Drive when the collision took place.

“The suspect was seen climbing out of the sun roof,” Hawkins said. “He was taken to the hospital.”
