Southlake postpones festival over coronavirus concerns

Southlake officials announced Thursday that the Celebrate Southlake festival, scheduled for March 20-22 at Bicentennial Park, has been postponed over concerns about the coronavirus.

According to an email from the city, no date was given to reschedule the event.

Alison Ortowski, Assistant City Manager said the city’s leadership team evaluated information from local, state and federal officials when making the decision to postpone the festival.

“We were looking forward to hosting the event in its third year and are disappointed to postpone it. However, we strongly believe it will be more successful if offered at a time when we can come together and enjoy community fellowship, worry free,”

Southlake also created a web page, protectsouthlake.com where residents can find information and resources about the coronavirus.
