Phoenix-based company building major business park, bringing more jobs, tax dollars
A massive 1 million-square-foot business park is coming to Haltom City and will feature retail, a corporate hotel, light industry and professional office space.
A groundbreaking ceremony was scheduled for Friday morning for the business park called 820 Exchange, that will be located next to I-820 at Northern Cross and Anderson Boulevards.
The Phoenix-based LGE Design Build is building the business park; Creation, also based in Phoenix, is the developer.
Assistant City Manager Rex Phelps said work should start soon but didn’t have a date for when the project will be finished.
New homes and luxury apartments are also being built in the area, where the new business park is located.
“This will be a catalyst for other development on other large properties,” Phelps said. “We believe this corridor is going to be a major economic engine for our city and for the area.”
Phelps said the 820 Exchange will include retail, restaurants, light industry such as distribution centers and office space.
He said the business park could bring in 1,200 to 1,500 jobs to the area and said it will also mean more property tax and sales tax dollars for Haltom City.
David Sellers, president and CEO of LGE, said in a news release that Haltom City officials helped the project move forward quickly.
“The entire design and city approval process was accomplished in less than seven months. That’s a huge win for the development team, LGE and the city,” Sellers said.
