Colleyville council candidate sues opponent
City Council candidate Bobby Lindamood has filed a lawsuit against relatives and political opponents after the release of an inflammatory campaign letter that referred to a 2011 deposition involving the estate of Lindamood’s father.
Among those named in the lawsuit are members of the Protect Colleyville political action committee and Place 6 Councilman Mike Taylor, Lindamood’s opponent in Saturday’s election.
The lawsuit, filed in Tarrant County, claims that certain relatives gave Taylor the deposition to hurt Lindamood and his business, JR’s Demolition & Excavation Inc.
The campaign letter was placed in select Colleyville mailboxes this week. In big red type, it says: “Bad behavior! Bad judgment! Bad for Colleyville!”
Lindamood said he was appalled at the tactic.
Taylor said neither he nor his campaign team was involved in the release of the letter.
