A gas well in the northern part of the city near a housing development caught fire shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday, officials said.
Fire crews continued to work to extinguish the fire an hour later after a battery tank and gas well head caught fire, city spokeswoman Lindsey Baker said.
“We believe it was a lightning strike,” Baker said.
The well site is off Interstate 35 and West Windsor Drive.
