DFW ICON vocal competition is set for May

Think you have a good voice?

Here’s your chance to show the world. A vocal competition will take the stage at Grapevine’s 31st Annual Main Street Fest, set for May 15-17.

JG Entertainment will host the 2nd Annual DFW ICON vocal competition at which it expects to find promising talent in hopes of launching the next star.

DFW ICON also will benefit Kidd’s Kids, the organization founded by the late Kidd Kraddick.

DFW ICON will open the microphone to singers between the ages of 7 to 24. Winner packages include recording, social media, photo shoots, image consulting and scholarships.

At the helm of DFW ICON is Dallas native Jonathan George, CEO of JG Entertainment. After the 1st Annual DFW ICON competition, George helped several DFW ICON finalists score auditions for FOX’s “American Idol.”

Trevor Douglas made it to the Top 24. A North Texas native, he will be a judge at the DFW ICON competition and will perform at the DFW ICON finals.

Preliminary rounds will be at Grapevine’s Palace Theatre at 6 p.m. May 15 and at 11:30 a.m. May 16. Finals will be on the Michelob Ultra Main Stage at 11:30 a.m. May 17. Talent will compete in four categories grouped by ages 7-11, 12-15, 16-19 and 20-24.
