Get a free preview of Summer Moon Coffee wares
Summer Moon Coffee in Keller Town Center is still a few weeks away from opening, but java fans can catch a preview Saturday of some of the shop’s most popular items.
Summer Moon Coffee folks are offering free samples of cold-brewed and hot coffee, along with their signature sweet cream Moon Milk from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at Out on a Limb clothing and gift boutique, 201 Town Center Lane, Suite 1115.
Greg Richardson, owner and general manager of Summer Moon DFW, said their portable equipment doesn’t include an espresso machine, but will offer a number of drip coffee brews and their “Nitro” cold brew, which comes from a kegerator powered by pedaling a tricycle.
“It’s a pretty unique setup, which we’ll include, depending on the weather,” Richardson said.
Bags of coffee beans, a new Keller-themed mug and other Summer Moon merchandise will be sold.
Summer Moon is taking over the location at 1004 Keller Parkway, formerly occupied by Starbucks in Keller Town Center. Starbucks moved one block west to have a drive-thru store.
Richardson said the Keller location could open later this month, as construction is nearly complete, with final inspections to follow.
Richardson and his wife, Laura, met the owners of Austin-based Summer Moon through a mutual friend and they started planning for DFW locations two years ago.
The Keller shop will be Richardson’s second location but the 10th for the coffee chain. He opened a Frisco store in March of 2017.
Known for its unique roasting process, Summer Moon Coffee has a specially made wood-fired oven powered by hand crank or foot pedal. Richardson said all the roasting is done at a “barn” in Dripping Springs and beans are shipped weekly to stores.
Updates for the opening will be posted on the Summer Moon Facebook page.
