Softball

The L.D. Bell Lady Raiders softball team remained tied for second place in District 7-6A with Haltom, with each team boasting a 6-3 district record. The teams were set to play last Friday, but the game was postponed to 7 p.m. Monday because of last weekend's thunderstorms. The Monday game will be played at Bell.

Bell is set to host Southlake Carroll, the first-place team, at 7:15 p.m. Friday in a game that could have a big impact on the final district standings and playoff seedings. The last time the Lady Raiders played Carroll, March 30, the Lady Dragons won 16-6. Meanwhile, Haltom has not only the Monday game vs. Bell but a Tuesday match against Carroll and a Friday game against Coppell.

Bell looks to draw either Mansfield or Midlothian in the first round of the playoffs.

Baseball

The Trinity Trojans baseball team suffered just its second loss of the season last Tuesday in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Coppell. After a few attempts to play the second game of the series last weekend, the final four innings of the game were ultimately postponed to 6 p.m. Monday at Coppell. The game was postponed after three scoreless innings.

The Trojans are also scheduled to finish out district play this week with a series against Richland. It begins 7 p.m. Tuesday against Richland and is set to wrap up at 7 p.m. Friday at Trinity. The Trojans also have a non-district game against Trophy Club Nelson scheduled for May 2.

The L.D. Bell Raiders baseball team was finally able to raise the win flag last Wednesday thanks to a 4-3 defeat of Haltom on the road. Bell had the second leg of the Haltom series postponed to 7 p.m. Monday at home, then will play a non-district game hosting Arlington Heights at noon Saturday.
