Texas man pleads guilty to enticing area minors to have sex on video
A River Oaks man facing two counts of felony child pornography charges involving children from the Watauga and Haslet areas pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Wednesday morning.
Timothy Paul Malone, 39, entered his guilty plea before U.S. Magistrate Jeffrey L. Cureton in Fort Worth for three child pornography counts, according to John Parker, U. S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.
Malone was arrested on Jan. 23 by the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office on two counts of sexual exploitation of children and one count of attempted sexual exploitation of children. Deputies searched Malone's home, according to plea documents, and seized electronic devices. Authorities found child pornography videos and images including two children from the Watauga and Haslet areas.
According to documents filed in the case, Malone enticed the two children to engage in sexually explicit conduct to produce video. Malone also tried to use another minor child to create video. Malone faces at least 15 years in prison, but could get up to 90 years paired with a lifetime of supervised release. He could also have to pay $750,000 in fines.
Malone was released from the Tarrant County jail on Sept. 26, but has remained in custody since an indictment was handed down days later. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 5.
