GCISD board of trustees candidates forum set

The Grapevine/Colleyville Council of PTAs is hosting a Candidate’s Forum for the open seats on the board of trustees.

The forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Grapevine High School’s library at 3223 Mustang Drive in Grapevine.

This event is free and open to the public.

The League of Women’s Voters will monitor the forum.

The Grapevine-Colleyville school district board of trustees election, for the purpose of electing a trustee for Place 1 and Place 2, will be held on May 9.

Positions are for Place 1, currently held by Kimberley Davis, vice president, who decided not to seek reelection; and Place 2, currently held by Becky St. John, secretary.

Mark Assaad, 44, of Grapevine, an engineer; Mindy McClure, 45, of Colleyville, a homemaker; and Kathleen Thompson, 38, of Grapevine, a writer; are seeking the post held by Davis.

St. John, 45, of Grapevine, who co-owns a consulting company, is running against Jesse David Hoffman, 33, of Grapevine, an attorney.
