A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by tires that came loose from a tractor-trailer on Interstate 35, police said.

The dual tires also hit a Toyota Camry, but the two people in the car were not injured.

Police identified the motorcyclist as Brady Burger, 23, of Sanger who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal accident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Interstate 35 in the southbound lanes.

The tractor-trailer was northbound on the highway when a set of dual wheels came loose from the trailer, police said. The tires rolled side-by-side, flew over a concrete divider and entered the southbound lanes, police said.

At that point, the tires struck the motorcyclist and the Camry, police said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer stopped and was interviewed by police.

Police closed two lanes of the highway for almost five hours as authorities investigated.
