Gang member arrested in Lewisville killing
A gang member accused of killing a man while the victim’s young son was in the same apartment surrendered to police Wednesday morning.
Adrian Quigley, 23, of The Colony was in the Lewisville Jail facing a charge of capital murder in the fatal shooting Tuesday night of 27-year-old Richard (Martin) Myles.
A second suspect remained unidentified and at large.
Myles was shot to death while his 2-year-old son was in the apartment Tuesday night, but the child was not injured, police said.
Patrol officers responded to a shooting call around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of East Southwest Parkway.
Officers found the body of a man later identified as Myles.
Detectives learned that Quigley and another suspect went to Myles’ apartment for a meeting. The three entered the apartment, and gunshots were exchanged moments later, Lewisville police Capt. Dan Rochelle said in a news release.
“During the incident, Myles was killed and Quigley was wounded,” Rochelle said. “At this time we do believe Quigley was one of the shooters. It is unknown at this time if the other suspect fired any shots.”
Quigley and the other suspect fled with some of Myles’ property, police said. They did not reveal what was taken.
Detectives obtained a capital murder warrant for Quigley, a member of the Crips. Officers searched for Quigley overnight but could not find him.
At about 11 a.m. Wednesday, Quigley surrendered to police at the Lewisville police station.
