Baseball

The Trinity and L.D. Bell baseball teams are getting exactly opposite results out of their realigned district thus far, with the Trojans entering the week 3-0 in 7-6A and Bell at 0-3.

The Trojans put up 20 runs over the course of two games with Haltom last week, beating the Buffalos on their home field last Tuesday 10-2 and defeating them as hosts last Friday, 10-3.

The Blue Raiders played both games against Richland last week, getting edged 5-3 Tuesday at Bell and losing 12-3 on Friday at Richland.

This week is supposed to be the Tuesday-Friday series between Trinity and Bell, with Trinity hosting on 7 p.m. Tuesday and Bell returning the favor at 7 p.m. Friday. However, according to the National Weather Service there will be significant chances of rain and thunderstorms early this week.

Softball

The Lady Blue Raiders softball team is having an easier time with 7-6A than Trinity thus far, with a 3-1 record after a 5-4 victory last Monday against Colleyville Heritage and a 10-9 loss to Haltom.

This week's games should pose a tough challenge for Bell, as the Lady Raiders are set to host Southlake Carroll on Monday and Coppell on Friday. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m.

The Lady Trojans struggled in a three-game stretch last week, losing 12-0 to Southlake Carroll on Monday, 8-5 to Coppell the next day and 11-6 to Richland on Friday.

But the Lady Trojans have to be excited about the runs they've put up in their past two games in light of this week's beginning of the second half of district. They visit Colleyville Heritage, which defeated Trinity 3-2 in their first meeting, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, then Haltom, a team that beat them 7-6, on April 7.

Girls soccer

The Trinity girls soccer team, which earned the fourth and final playoff seed out of 7-6A in its final game of the district season, was knocked out of the bi-district round of the playoffs by Midlothian last Friday.

The Lady Panthers put up three goals in the first half and two in the second half for a 5-0 win over Trinity.
