Pedestrian struck, killed at Denton intersection
A pedestrian was killed Tuesday night when she was hit by a car as she attempted to cross at an intersection, police said Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Tamara Brewer, 48, of Denton, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website on Wednesday.
Brewer was pronounced dead at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday at the scene, according to the website. A ruling on her death was pending an autopsy.
Police responded to an injury traffic accident shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at North Loop 288 and Kings Row.
A motorist called 911 and reported he had just hit a pedestrian.
Witnesses told police a silver Toyota Camry was traveling north on N. Loop 288 and crossing Kings Row on a green light.
A woman later identified as Brewer attempted to walk across the intersection when she was hit by the Camry, witnesses told police.
Police closed the intersection for several hours as authorities investigated.
No charges had been filed as of Wednesday, police said.
