Grapevine job fair set April 11 at Timberline
The Grapevine Community Outreach Center in partnership with the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce will host its 2nd Annual Community Job Fair for local residents and employers on April 11.
The event will be held from 1-4 p.m. at Timberline Elementary School at 3220 Timberline Drive.
The event aims at connecting local businesses and residents to provide jobs and build a stronger local community.
Building on last year’s success, the job fair will not only target residents of Grapevine, but will include residents of Colleyville, Coppell, Euless, Flower Mound, Keller and Southlake.
Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with local employers representing several industries including retail, service, manufacturing, hospitality and finance.
More than 50 employers will be offering more than 1,000 jobs. They include Grapevine Police Department, Grapevine-Colleyville school district and Legoland.
The job fair will primarily focus on entry and middle level positions.
The Outreach Center, located at 3010 Mustang Drive, facilitates communication and cooperation between the residents of Grapevine and law enforcement through recreational, educational, social and cultural enrichment programs.
“The Grapevine job fair represents a perfect example of the way that community partnerships benefit everyone in unique ways — by pooling skills, resources and ideas — to accomplish more together than could ever have been accomplished apart,” said Colby Mowery, Community Outreach Center coordinator.
“The job fair is a platform where prospective employees and local businesses in need of help can find each other and mutually benefit. This results in a stronger economy, as businesses are able to produce more goods and services, as well as a stronger community, as more local residents are provided with stable income to provide for their families and participate in the local economy.”
There is no fee for employers to participate in the job fair and it is also free for attending job seekers.
The event is put together by volunteers and community residents. An application help desk will be available for employees who need assistance.
On-site child care and light refreshments will also be provided at no cost.
All attendees will be eligible for a raffle drawing at the end of the event.
