Baseball
The Trojans baseball team looked sharp in a double-header last Wednesday, defeating Weatherford 7-3 in Game 1 and 9-2 in Game 2. Mark Geisel, Wesley Engle, Chase Averitt and Philip Childs sparked the Trinity scoring.
The team came back last Thursday for another double-header sweep, knocking off Arlington Lamar 5-4 and Killeen Harker Heights 10-2.
District play begins this week, with the Trojans facing Colleyville Heritage in both games. Friday's will be 7 p.m. at Heritage.
L.D. Bell enters district play on a mini-skid after forging a seven-game winning streak that was broken last Friday.
The Blue Raiders collected a pair of wins against Weatherford to go with victories over Lovejoy, Woodrow Wilson, Lewisville, Paschal and Southwest.
The Raiders were set to open district Tuesday at Coppell before a home rematch with the Cowboys at 7 p.m. Friday.
Softball
It was a frustrating week for the Lady Trojans softball team last week, as a non-district match against Haltom was postponed twice back to Friday, and four Trinity errors helped Haltom to a 7-6 victory.
The big rivalry game against Bell is up for Tuesday, and the Lady Trojans will face another top program at Southlake Carroll at 7:15 p.m. Friday.
Last week at Bell was even more frustrating, as muddly conditions from recent rain wiped games against Coppell and Richland off the slate.
It also makes for a busy week for the Lady Raiders, as they're now scheduled to play Richland at 7 p.m. Monday, Trinity on Tuesday, host Colleyville Heritage at 7:15 p.m. Friday and play a make-up game at Coppell at 1 p.m. Saturday.
