Family picnic is Wednesday in Hurst park

With spring-like weather upon us, why not load up the lawn chairs and pack up the picnic basket for Hurst’s Grand Family Picnic? The mid-day event is scheduled for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Village Park, 841 W. Pipeline Road.

The kid-friendly picnic will feature games, a play area and crafts and live music by the band Vocal Trash, which performs at noon. The city will provide cupcakes.

Learn pet first aid at Bedford workshop

Want to learn how to treat you four-legged friend in an emergency? Then come to the Pet First Aid for Dogs and Cats class from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Bedford Boys Ranch Activity Center, 2801 Forest Ridge Dr.

Course will cover pet owner responsibilities, administering medicine, managing breathing and cardiac emergencies, treating wounds and preparing for natural disasters. Do not bring your pets to class.

Arbor Daze seeks vendors and volunteers

Euless is accepting applications for vendors for its annual Arbor Daze festival, scheduled for April 24-25.

Volunteers are also needed for the festival, which features a tree giveaway, kids zone play area, forestry village, food and beverages, arts and crafts and live entertainment.

The festival that celebrates all things trees is held from 5-10 p.m. April 24 and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. April 25 at Euless City Hall Campus, 201 N. Ector Drive.
