TCU baseball’s ‘superhero’ Micah Ahern remembered
Hundreds gathered Saturday as family, friends and TCU baseball members celebrated the teammate’s life.
The team’s “superhero” and friend since 2013, 7-year-old Micah Ahern died late last month. He joined the Horned Frogs baseball team for three seasons. In June he visited them in the College World Series where TCU players wore a letter “M” on their caps and T-shirts.
He also had a locker at the Lupton Stadium clubhouse.
Several current and former players attended along with head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
"I invited Micah to be a part of our team because I wanted to teach these young men to think of someone other than themselves," Schlossnagle said to the crowd, according to WFAA. "He ended up teaching us so much more."

Micah was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of cancer, in 2010 and had more than 10 operations.
"He's the toughest 7-year-old I've ever seen, " catcher Evan Skoug said in previous reports. "They say that God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. And we've seen that's true with Micah."
Micah’s family set up a foundation in his honor called The Superhero Micah Foundation. People can donate at any Frost Bank location, through mail to Frost Bank, Attn: Carol Camp, 3801 Matlock Rd. Arlington, TX 76015 or online at www.superheromicah.org.
