Woman struck and killed by Maserati over the weekend, North Texas police say
The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal crash in which a passenger vehicle hit a pedestrian.
At about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, a Maserati heading north on Belt Line Road took a curve too quickly and hit a woman, police said in a news release.
The woman was pronounced dead on the scene by Grand Prairie Fire Department medics.
Investigators don’t believe that the driver was intoxicated, but distracted driving has not been ruled out as a potential cause of the accident, according to police.
The driver was not injured and is cooperating in the investigation, which is ongoing.
After the next of kin has been notified, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the woman who died.
