A Mansfield massage spa was allowed to continue operating despite a history of sexual assault allegations against its employees, according to a new lawsuit filed June 12 in a Tarrant County district court.

The anonymous plaintiff, represented by attorney Meredith Stratigopoulos of Austin firm Guerra LLP, was sexually assaulted during a visit to A++ Foot Spa & Massage in March, according to the lawsuit.

The plaintiff had visited the spa on a previous occasion without incident and requested the same masseur, Baoshen Wang, on the second visit, the suit states. She remained clothed while lying on the massage table, and Wang began to rub her face, she said.

Thinking there may have been a language barrier, the plaintiff moved her face to indicate she didn’t want Wang to rub it, according to the suit. Wang then placed his hands underneath her clothing and began touching her breasts before manipulating her arm to touch his genitals, the suit states.

Eventually, the assault progressed to the point of Wang forcefully removing the plaintiff’s clothing and pulling her legs apart while she resisted, the suit states.

The plaintiff reported the assault to Mansfield police. Wang, 54, of Plano, was arrested in April and charged with indecent assault by a health provider, according to Tarrant County court records. He is being held in the Tarrant County Jail and is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit.

Wang’s attorney said he denies the allegations and plans to plead not guilty and request a jury trial in the criminal case. The other defendants in the lawsuit could not immediately be reached for comment.

Prior to the plaintiff’s assault, several other instances of alleged inappropriate sexual conduct occurred at the business and were being investigated both criminally and civilly, according to the suit. In March 2021, one of the spa’s owners was arrested on a charge of indecent assault on the premises, and the owners were later sued in October 2022 in connection to another allegation of violent assault.

The owner of the spa was later found not guilty at trial, and the previous civil suit was dropped, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit also names as a defendant ACF Property Management, which manages the Commons at Walnut Creek shopping center where the massage spa is located. Despite the previous allegations of sexual assault at the spa, the shopping center’s owners continued to allow it to operate, the lawsuit states.

“The allegations contained in our client’s petition are disturbing and outrageous,” Stratigopoulos said in a statement. “In preparing this lawsuit, we have discovered multiple allegations of sexual misconduct at A++ Foot Spa & Massage. We are hopeful that by our client bravely coming forward, justice will be done. Given the alleged history of sexual misconduct at A++ Foot Spa & Massage, we encourage any and all other potential victims and witnesses to contact the police.”
