All westbound lanes of Interstate 30 were closed due to a crash near the George Bush Turnpike near Grand Prairie and Arlington Sunday afternoon as fans are headed to the first World Cup match at Dallas Stadium.

Traffic was being diverted southbound toward the World Cup exit on Main Street. Lanes in the area reopened shortly before 3 p.m., Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV reported.

The crash caused significant delays for fans traveling to Dallas Stadium — better known as AT&T Stadium — for the 3 p.m. match between Japan and the Netherlands.

Grand Prairie police are investigating and have not released further details about the crash.
