Three members of a family were killed and another person was injured in a house fire early Saturday in Weatherford, officials said.

Weatherford and Parker County firefighters responded about 1 a.m. to reports of a structure fire at a home on Stoneridge Trail, city officials said in a news release.

When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy fire and smoke coming from the home and removed occupants from the house, officials said.

Three people died at the scene and one person who was able to get outside on their own was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The people who died were identified by friends and neighbors as mother and daughter Amy and Malynna Pidgeon and grandmother Connie, CBS News reported. Malynna Pidgeon was 18 years old, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“Patrick Pidgeon tragically lost his wife Amy, his daughter Malynna, and his mother Connie, along with four dogs and his entire home in a devastating house fire,” according to a GoFundMe post raising money for the family. “His son, Hayden, was stationed out of state in the U.S. Army.”

“No family should ever have to endure such heartbreak,” the post states. “This GoFundMe has been created to help Patrick and Hayden as they face the long road ahead, to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, immediate living needs, and the process of rebuilding after this unimaginable loss. More than anything, it is a way to show them that they are not alone.”

Fire marshals with a task force from Parker County and Tarrant County are investigating the cause of the fire.
