Second cold-weather death reported in Fort Worth, police say
Fort Worth police responded to a second cold weather-related death Wednesday, according to a news release.
Officers were called in response to a report of an unresponsive man inside a tent in the 6900 block of the service road to Northwest Loop 820 about 12:55 p.m., police said.
Emergency medical services also responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the statement.
Per protocol, homicide detectives also responded to the scene, but police believe the man’s death was related to cold weather and that no foul play was involved.
On Tuesday, police responded to a report of a dead woman in a field in the 2900 block of Seminary Drive. That woman’s death is also believed to be because of the cold weather.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the dead after their next of kin have been notified.
