The westbound lanes of Texas 114 near Carroll Avenue in Southlake were shut down for several hours Saturday, Jan. 10, due to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian, police say.

A 25-year-old man was struck and killed on Texas 114 in Southlake early Saturday morning while trying to cross the highway, police said.

First-responders were called to the 1100 block of Texas 114 shortly before 4 a.m. after an 18-wheeler hit a pedestrian, the Southlake Police Department said in a news release. It appears the man was involved in a single-vehicle accident in the same area immediately before the fatal crash.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the pedestrian as Trevon Anthony Davis.

The westbound lanes were closed just before the Carroll Avenue exit for several hours but had reopened by 9:15 a.m.

The driver of the 18-wheeler stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
