73-year-old man killed in Benbrook house fire, officials say

A 73-year-old Benbrook man was killed in a house fire Saturday night, officials said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1200 block of Duane Street about 9:15 p.m., Benbrook Fire Department officials said in a post on Facebook. The house was already engulfed in flames when they arrived.

The Fort Worth Fire Department assisted with extinguishing the blaze, according to the post. No firefighters were injured.

Gordon Lee Burditt, the home’s resident, died at the scene, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website. His official cause and manner of death are still pending the results of an autopsy.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
