Keller resident wins $1 million Powerball prize. Jackpot soars to $1.25 billion
A Keller resident claimed a $1 million Powerball prize resulting from the game’s Dec. 6 drawing, according to the Texas Lottery.
The winning ticket for a second-tier prize was purchased at Crossroad Shell, at 3605 Western Center Blvd. in Fort Worth, lottery officials said. The winner chose to remain anonymous.
The winner’s Quick Pick ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (13-14-26-28-44), but not the red Powerball number (7). The claimant won an additional $4 on the same ticket.
How to play Powerball
Powerball grand prizes start at $20 million and grow until the jackpot is won.
No one won the $1.1 billion jackpot in the results of the Monday, Dec. 15 drawing. The jackpot will rise to $1.25 billion, or an estimated cash value of $572.1 million, for the Wednesday, Dec. 17 drawing.
Players can win the grand prize by matching five white numbers from a field of 69 numbers, and one red Powerball number from a field of 26. Players who choose Power Play for $1 more per ticket can multiply their non-grand prize winnings by two, three, four, five or 10 times.
Powerball drawings are broadcast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:12 p.m. CT and can be streamed online.
