Person found dead in truck that caught fire on North Texas highway, police say

A person was found dead inside a burning pickup truck on a highway exit ramp in Hurst on Wednesday night, police said.

Hurst police officers responded to the vehicle fire shortly before midnight on the Texas 10 exit ramp from Texas 121 northbound, police said.

When officers arrived, they found the truck engulfed in flames, police said. Hurst firefighters extinguished the fire and found a body inside the truck, police said.

The person who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office after the next of kin has been notified. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. At this time, police said, there is no indication of a criminal offense.

Police said their investigation into the death and the cause of the fire is ongoing in partnership with the Medical Examiner’s Office.
