Person wounded in east Fort Worth shooting early Saturday, police say

One person was injured in a shooting early Saturday in east Fort Worth, officials with the Fort Worth Police Department said.

Officers responded to an area near the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Quail Road at around 2:08 a.m. Saturday, police said. They located the victim, who had been shot multiple times, on Quail Road.

Early investigations found that the victim had been in an altercation with the suspect and was walking away when the suspect ran up and shot the victim several times, police said. The victim is expected to survive.

The suspect has not been arrested and gun violence detectives are investigating, police said.
