Texas Game Wardens in Denton County, the Lewisville Fire Department and Towboat U.S. responded to a possible water fatality on Lake Lewisville on Saturday, June 28, a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department spokesperson said in a statement.

Authorities were searching for a man who was swimming near a boat when he went underwater and did not resurface.

On Sunday, June 29, the missing man was located and divers with the Lewisville Fire Department recovered his body from the lake, authorities said.

The man was identified as Cleveland Whiteside of Mississippi, according to the statement.

“Our thoughts are with Mr. Whiteside’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the statement read.
