An off-duty Fort Worth police officer’s personal vehicle was struck by a stray bullet when some teens were firing shots northwest of downtown early Sunday morning, police said.

Nine teenagers, ages 13 to 19, were firing shots from an SUV that was being driven erratically in the 1000 block of North Henderson Street, police said.

An office near the location was going home and a bullet passed through his personal vehicle and grazed his pants leg. The bullet did not break the skin, police said.

Police said the SUV then went to 100 block of Northwest 24th Street where some of the teens assaulted a man before fleeing and wrecking out.

The 19-year-old driver fled on foot while the remaining passengers, including some in the cargo area, stayed inside the vehicle, police said.

The entire incident remains under investigation, police said.

No arrests have been made.
