Four people killed, several others injured in crash on Interstate 20 in Terrell

Four people died and several others were injured in a crash involving seven vehicles on Saturday afternoon in Terrell, according to the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department.

Officials with the Elmo Fire Department were dispatched at about 2:40 p.m. to the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 east of Hiram Road, according to a post on the Terrell fire department’s Facebook page. The crash included three 18-wheeler tractor trailers and four passenger vehicles.

Four people were deceased, two others were taken to the hospital in critical condition and several others suffered less-severe injuries, according to the fire department.

Due to the severity of the crash, all lanes on Interstate 20 in both directions were closed for a few hours, according to the fire department. All westbound lanes of the highway remain closed at the time of writing, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
