Three people were injured after a dump truck crashed through the wall of a home in northern Tarrant County on Friday morning, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to the house near the intersection of Farm to Market Road 718 and Newark Ranch Road about 10:20 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office. There, deputies found that a sedan also involved in the collision ended up on nearby train tracks, according to a news release.

The driver of the dump truck was injured and was taken to a hospital, officials said.

The driver of the sedan and a woman inside the home also suffered minor injuries, but were not hospitalized.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Video from Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV’s helicopter showed tire tracks leading to the house in the 1200 block of Melissa Cove, suggesting that the truck likely drove through a fence before it hit the house near the garage. The truck rolled over and ended up on its side, the video showed.

First responders told WFAA that the accident happened when a tire blew out on the Mercedes sedan, which hit the dump truck, causing the truck driver to veer off the road.

“He attempted to avoid a head-on collision,” Newark Fire Department Capt. Rusty Peace said. “Doing so, he left the road, overcorrected and ended up going through the back yard into this residence.”

The truck driver was identified as Dale Collins, owner of Dale Collins Trucking. Collins’ daughter Chelsea Stone told WFAA he had a cut on his face but is expected to be OK.

“We came into the neighborhood and I saw it rolled over,” she said. “I don’t think I ever ran so fast.”

In a social media post, the Newark Volunteer Fire Department said that FM 718, also called Avondale-Haslet Road, was initially closed because of the accident but it has since reopened.
